It is only two days into New York Fashion Week, but an early trend has emerged. Spring 2016 is about featuring bright, clean black and white silhouettes accented with primary colors. In designer Malan Breton’s case, he used the combination of black or white with color-blocked red, blue or green. For designer Daniel Silverstain, he used the color palette in retro pattern prints or with black or white garments with a pop color accessory. The shoes on the models followed suit. Models wore black or white heels that had primary colored straps to add interest to the foot.
Designing into the next season, you can easily adapt classic silhouettes or bodies in black or white. You can the update it with a pop color accessory or create a contrast detail in a primary color like a collar, a sleeve cuff or a hem.
